Thoughts On Bircher Common

Thoughts On Bircher Common

Focus on the thistles

to see there is a thorny path;

gaze

upon the space between,

and find the field is full of grass.

Follow

follow

your

gut

and

the

rest

will

follow

Let Go

Let Go

as I let go of the need to be

right

clever

pretty

talented

perfect

(               )

I am becoming

free

Reality

Reality

as if from a dream

I have awoken

and in this moment of clarity

reality

in stillness perceived

here holds more wonder

than all make believe

wisdom begins

strive to admit you do not know

for in that moment wisdom begins

More Than A Mouthpiece

More Than A Mouthpiece

I am more than a mouthpiece

for the mind,

though at times in thought

I may find myself

lost.

And with the passing of

unconscious words,

for a moment

or even a time,

forget that agency, which

in stillness lies,

and wish in the doing

that I could rewind.

But!

Sure as the sun

through a cloud shines,

suddenly I too

awaken to find,

I Am

more than a mouthpiece

for the mind.

Ending The Ations

Ending The Ations

Anticipation

of future privation

invariably leads

to current stagnation.

While lamentation

on past aggravation

can but achieve

present irritation.

Why not then

be here, now,

and bid fond farewell

to futile frustration.

what is

accepting what is

      opens the door

to new reality

Love Is All Around

Love Is All Around

Love is all around you,

in every aspect found.

It lies within the silence

and blossoms into sound.

In furnaces of distant stars

whose light in darkness gleams,

it dances in the atmosphere

in oceans and in streams.

It lingers in a gentle touch,

the stillness of the trees -

there, in a stranger’s smile

pervades our daily scenes.

Fear not the madness of the mind,

though signs of it abound.

The fabric of the universe,

Love, is all around.

View

View

even as you climb the mountain

remember to stop and take in the view

for though you may reach the top

you may not have to

without fear

to live without ego is to live without fear

The End

The End

Live this moment

as a means to an end,

and the end you are sure to achieve

is death.

Live this moment

as an end in itself,

and the end you receive, without means,

is life.
